  • You have extensive experience working in a design-oriented role, such as interior design, graphic design, visual merchandising, and/or store planning.
  • You are a degree or diploma holders in Design/ Visual Merchandising or other related discipline
  • You are experienced in managing, inspiring, leading, and developing people and creative processes in a changing environment.
  • You have experience in visually expressing the brand identity of a company.
  • You have visual competence, including a keen eye for aesthetics.
  • You have a proven customer-focused mindset.
  • You demonstrate clear communication and coaching skills, with the ability to explain concepts and visual interpretations verbally.
  • You can set and implement action plans, set expectations, provide clear direction, and follow up on goals.
  • You have a proven ability to prioritize and organize work, as well as the work of others, to make the most efficient use of time and meet agreed goals and deadlines.
  • You communicate confidently and clearly in English.
  • You have experience in problem-solving in the retail and home furnishing industry.
  • You have experience as a management team member and in leading leaders/managers.

 

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING DAY TO DAY

  • Lead and inspire the store Communication & Interior Design team to use their knowledge of IKEA home furnishing and people's lives at home to grow the business.
  • Partner with the store manager to stimulate and increase interest in home furnishing among all co-workers in the store.
  • Be the creative leader by initiating and facilitating workshops to generate creative directions.
  • Secure vitality and seasonality in the store by creating and implementing a store commercial calendar together with the store management team.
  • Lead the store Communication & Interior Design team in securing relevant and inspiring range presentation solutions, an optimal store layout, and effective and efficient store communication that builds the IKEA Brand and distances IKEA retailers from the competition.
  • Ensure that the store commercial team has the right understanding of store layout, range presentation, and store communication, thereby contributing to the work method for range presentation.
  • Contribute knowledge of people's lives at home and consumer shopping behavior in the creation and implementation of the store business plan.
  • Based on the national competence development plan, identify current and future business needs to recruit, develop, and retain a high-performing and passionate store Communication & Interior Design team.
  • Lead and challenge the Communication & Interior Design team to constantly take actions that exploit commercial opportunities both in the short and long term.
  • Secure vitality and seasonality in the store by implementing the country commercial calendar together with the country Commercial Activity Leader team and store team.
  • Be responsible for preparing and monitoring the Communication & Interior Design budget and always ensuring cost efficiency.
