Position: Category Support Officer
Job Grade: 9
Reports to: Merchandise Manager
Role Purpose
Reporting to the Merchandise Manager and Category Managers, you will provide both administrative and analytical support to the category team. You will collaborate closely with suppliers, operations, and marketing teams to ensure the smooth execution of product listings and promotions. Additionally, you will be responsible for delivering timely and accurate reports and analysis to support business decisions.
Principal Responsibilities
- Prepare and submit daily system maintenance forms to GBA within the stipulated cut-off time
- Process and prepare payment requisitions and monthly billings for claims, promotions, and new product listings
- Liaise with suppliers on promotion forms, claims submissions, and resolve any discrepancies
- Prepare and consolidate agency formats, store messages, and letters of authorization for vendor submissions
- Generate and analyse sales reports to support the Merchandise Manager and Category Managers
- Perform article creation for both national and house brands
- Prepare and maintain supply chain files, including OSD and spaceman files
- Raise and coordinate supply chain requests (e.g., GRN888, GRN999, ad-hoc allocations, expiry feedback)
- Support promotion listing processes, including securing supplier support, consolidation, and system execution
- Prepare materials and support monthly BMO presentations and meetings
- Undertake other ad-hoc administrative and operational tasks as assigned
Job Requirements
- Diploma in Business Management or a related discipline
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience, preferably in the retail or FMCG industry
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel (including Pivot Tables)
- Experience in FMCG or retail operations will be an advantage
