Description & Requirements

Role Purpose


To develop and execute strategic plans for assigned categories within a structured category management framework, aiming to achieve the company’s financial goals and objectives, enhance market share, improve customer satisfaction, and optimize productivity performance metrics.


Responsibilities


  • Collaborate closely with the Commercial Director to lead the category team in developing and executing effective category strategies.
  • Drive category performance by achieving sales, gross profit, and income targets through monitoring market trends, developing strategies to grow market share, and planning competitive responses.
  • Establish and maintain robust inventory management processes to optimize product mix, address customer needs, and achieve shrinkage reduction goals.
  • Design and execute promotional plans that generate excitement and drive incremental sales in stores.
  • Develop and implement placement and planogram strategies to enhance category turnover and positively impact customer shopping behavior.
  • Formulate and execute competitive pricing strategies that provide value to customers while maintaining profitability.
  • Build strong collaborative relationships with suppliers to maximize income, terms, and discounts, improving category sales and profitability.
  • Lead special projects to address specific needs and objectives of the company.
  • Guide and support Category Managers and Category Support Executives to ensure they meet their key objectives and deliver results.
  • Identify and nurture high-potential talent to ensure effective succession planning and long-term organizational growth.


About You


  • Experience in leading a team.
  • Graduate with a diploma or university degree in business or marketing field.
  • Possesses a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, ideally within the retail or FMCG sector.
  • Experience in a customer-focused industry, possessing expertise in merchandising, marketing, and entrepreneurial skills.
  • Well-versed in industry trends and market dynamics, with excellent presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal abilities.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret data and generate valuable insights.
  • Energetic, creative, and highly adaptable with a collaborative mindset.
  • Fluent in English, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Organized, decisive, determined, and persistent individual.
