The Role Objective:

 

  • This role responsible supports the Group Chief Digital Officer to drive the digital transformation and growth of the organization's retail business. This position requires a deep understanding of the retail industry, consumer behaviour, and digital technologies. The role collaborates with various stakeholders, including senior executives, marketing teams, IT departments, and retail operations, to develop and implement digital strategies that enhance the customer experience, increase online and offline sales, and drive overall business growth.
  • Shadow P&L accountable of Food format across DFI Group. The role co-own digital performance with Food banners/markets
  • Support Food CEO to enable digital roll out to all Food operating markets, including digital (online) and in-store digitalisation
  • Provide digital insights support to DFI associates (Yonghui, Robinsons, Maxim’s Group)

The challenge is to:

 

  • Digital Strategy Development: Develop and execute a comprehensive digital strategy for DFI retail group, aligning it with the overall business objectives. Identify opportunities for digital innovation and transformation to enhance the retail customer journey and meet changing consumer expectations.
  • E-commerce and Omnichannel Retailing: Lead the development and implementation of e-commerce and omnichannel retail strategies for the assigned topics. Collaborate with Product and Tech development teams to optimize the online platform, improve the online shopping experience, and integrate online and offline channels for seamless customer interactions. In particular, candidate shall demonstrate passion and ability to execute on omnichannel retailing.
  • Problem solving: Identify opportunities for Group Digital to identify and prioritise feasible solutions to design and execute for the business
  • Business Partnership (Food): Build strong relationships with Food format stakeholders in all Food markets and key internal functional stakeholders. Serve as a strategic advisor, understanding their specific needs, challenges, and goals, and provide digital solutions and recommendations to drive business growth and profitability.
  • Customer Experience Enhancement: Analyse customer behaviour, preferences, and trends to improve the retail customer experience. Identify opportunities to leverage digital technologies, such as personalized marketing, mobile apps and user incentives to deliver a superior customer experience and drive customer loyalty.
  • Data Analytics and Insights: Use data analytics and business intelligence tools to gain insights into customer behaviour, sales trends, and operational efficiency. Use these insights to make data-driven decisions, optimize retail operations, and drive revenue growth.

 

 

Do you have experience in Digital Commerce Transformation?

  • Education: A bachelor's or master's degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field is typically required. Proven experience in digital strategy development, e-commerce, and retail operations is essential. Previous experience in a leadership and management role within the retail or digital commerce industry is highly desirable.
  • P&L experience: Business leader with direct end-to-end digital commerce P&L experience, preferably in more than 1 operating market across DFI’s footprint. Ideal candidate will have P&L experience with sizeable annual GMV exceeding USD 200 million. Ideal candidate will have work experience exceeding 12 years.
  • Retail Industry Expertise: In-depth knowledge of the retail / FMCG industry, including consumer behaviour, market trends, and competitive landscape. Familiarity with the challenges and opportunities of the retail sector in the digital age. Prior experience doing offline store digitalisation will be a significant plus
  • Digital Skills: Strong understanding of digital technologies, e-commerce platforms, and omnichannel retailing. Familiarity with data analytics, customer relationship management (CRM) systems, and digital marketing tools.
  • Business Acumen: Excellent business acumen with the ability to understand the retail group's goals, strategies, and financial metrics. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify opportunities and drive business growth.
  • Stakeholder Management: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization. Ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve digital transformation objectives.
  • Leadership and Change Management: Proven leadership skills with the ability to lead and inspire teams through digital transformation initiatives. Change management expertise to facilitate organizational change and ensure successful adoption of digital strategies.
  • Proficiency in English. Ideal to have additional language skills relevant to our operating markets (Chinese, Cantonese, Bahasa Melayu, Bahasa Indonesia, Vietnamese if possible)
